They were good friends and most people in Cold Lake were shocked to learn they weren't dating (or already married!). After the summer they returned to their respective schools to finish their degrees. Following university, Amberly left BC and moved to Calgary, while Colin left Ontario and moved to Vancouver Island. Not expecting Colin to drive 10 hrs to Cranbrook, Amberly offhandedly invited Colin to her parents home for Thanksgiving in 2005. That weekend sparked the tradition of an annual visit to Fort Steele Heritage Town. Since they were still just friends, Amberly's mom (Karen) invited Colin back for Christmas (which he accepted). Under the glow of the ZooYear's Eve lights, Amberly and Colin realized they shared more then just friendship and took the next step. A few months later Colin moved to Calgary and the rest, as they say, is history.
